Free development opportunity open to all umpires, regardless of experience level to further your knowledge of practical specifics.

Offered in March with follow-up in May

An 8-week preseason programme aimed at connecting us all as an umpire group while getting fit and strong for the season ahead. Sessions proceed wet or fine.

Tuesdays February to April at Hataitai

We are excited to invite you to an Umpiring 2025 Season Launch! This is a fantastic opportunity for all to meet the panel leads, connect with fellow officials, gain important information about the upcoming season including development opportunities.

Whether a seasoned umpire or just starting out, this gathering is open to all.

Sunday 6 April 2025 1-3pm at Hataitai

Focus on theory including rule understanding and discussion as well as practical activities including whistle-blowing, scenarios and best-practice positioning on court.  All genders from Year 8+ welcome to attend.

Offered in January and April each year

Aimed at new and returning player-umpires and qualified umpires.  Build confidence, refresh your umpire knowledge prior to the start of the season and gain answers to fiddly scenarios that crop up.

For Year 8 upwards across club, college. Separate Year 5-8 game workshop also run for Satellites. All FREE to attend.

Offered in April & May each year

Our College and Intermediate Comps are a great way to develop your confidence as an advanced Kiwi Whistler, progress towards your Introductory Badge and beyond and keep up your skills and fitness in the pre/off-season while making yourself a little pocket-money!

Comps run in Term 1 & Term 4 each year

Sport Tutor is designed for all who are involved in netball including coaches, umpires, volunteers, and players and is a great access point for free online workshops and resources.

Online learning available all year round

Ad hoc workshops offered to umpires at secondary school keen to learn more. Past workshops covered techniques to make umpiring easier, what obstruction  & contact looks like & how to penalise them correctly. All experience welcome.
