Low Impact Netball shifts to Mondays in Term 4 & 1 - 6.30-7.30pm at Ākau Tangi Sports Centre, all welcome!

It's never too late to try something new!

Perhaps you're recovering from injury, just had a baby, played at primary school and want to have another bash, want to learn to play for the first time, keen to stay active in a low-impact way, get a bit fitter, stay mobile or just come and meet new friends and have a laugh!

In this modified game timing, ball-placement, pass selection and space is crucial.  You'll be forced to rethink tactics given you can't just out-run or out-jump your opponent.  Well executed dodges and thoughtful positioning become your go-to tools instead.  Don't let the name fool you... you'll soon work up a sweat!

Rules are:...

  • Participants must be over 18 years of age
  • No running or jumping - one foot must be on the ground at all times
  • Player can hold the ball for up to 4 seconds
  • Maximum of three males on courts at any one time - one in the defence circle area, one in the mid-court area and one in the shooting circle area (flexibility to change things up on the night as suits)
  • All other standard netball rules apply

No uniforms necessary - wear what you want.
Bibs supplied.
Teams are compiled on the night so just turn up!
Short games/quarters of no more than 10 minutes with rolling subs allowed as required.
Flexibility vital as depending on numbers on the night means there may be more playing periods for shorter time.
Come and try as a wee taster - with any luck you'll get hooked!
