Upcoming Workshop Opportunities
Sessions open to coaches, managers and umpires of any age, experience or sport code near & far to help guide you on your coach journey and gain fresh ideas.
A variety of guest facilitators - fantastic opportunities to learn and connect with others.
Prior experience not necessary.
Pick and choose topics of interest as suits your learning needs.
Formal (accredited) and informal (interest-focused) learning opportunities on offer.
CCA1&2 course names may alter slightly to help with promotion yet many fall under NNZ accredited courses to assist those hoping to complete modules along the NNZ Coaching Framework.
If progressing towards Community Coach Award level 1 (CCA1) or level 2 (CCA2) you will be credited with the appropriate module once attended & necessary online components complete.

With a NetballSmart focus, gain an understanding of smart preparation, warm up & cool down, movement, training, injury management and prevention.

How to plan for a good season & individual training sessions. Talk through the many elements you need to consider when creating your own season overview & realistic time management involved.
Mon 7 April 6.30pm virtual - Tournament Planning for Coaches (CCA Level 2)
Tue 8 April 6.30pm virtual - Tournament Preparation for Managers
Highlights exactly what's entailed for players & parents at single day and multi day tournaments including budgeting, wellbeing, nutrition, managing communication and equipment requirements.
Mon 14 April 6.30pm virtual - Introduction to Mental Skills (CCA Level 2)
Focus on developing four basic mental skills aimed at facilitating improved self-confidence and performance.
Sat 10 May afternoon in-person - Introduction to Game Analysis (CCA Level 2).
Hosted at Fly Palmy Arena in Palmerston North. Fee TBC (includes ticket to Pulse game). Separate registration link to follow.
Learn how to collate, summarise and reflect on information about tactical elements of a game to strengthen your team's overall performance.

Are you a female coach eager to elevate your skills and connect with like-minded women? Join us for an inspiring series of growth and networking right here in the Manawatū region!
Session one proved overwhelmingly popular, attended by 60 wāhine.
Session two will be underway in November and open to both those who attended session one, and those who didn't - everyone is welcome!
This opportunity is for any level self-identified female coach in or near the Manawatū region.
Hear from guest panelists, upskill with coaching relevant sessions and expand your network amongst other local wāhine.

features Dr Sarah Leberman MNZM running a session on leadership and the Emotional Culture deck - how to redesign your team culture.

FREE futureFERNS workshops for coaches of Year 1-8 players
Each Satellite arranges FREE workshops located conveniently for their associated member coaches to attend. By attending, coaches gain access to resources which include pre-planned training sessions along with warm-up, cool-down and other information specific to their appropriate junior modified game. In addition those attending receive guidance on how to interpret the resource, deliver a quality session and tips for instructing their particular age group. Whether new to netball, returning after some time away from the sport, coaxed from the sideline to help coach or seeking a refresher before the season starts - it's highly recommended to attend so as to boost your confidence and be reassured you're well-supported in your coaching role.

Netball New Zealand have also arranged FREE self-guided modules anyone can complete at your own pace.

Sport Tutor online learning is designed for anyone involved in netball including coaches, umpires, managers, players, parents and volunteers and is a great access point for free online workshops and resources in support of self-driven extension and education.
